Us

We met over 12 years ago and within a short amount of time we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Over the years, we have truly become each other's best friend. Our marriage continues to grow stronger every day because of the mutual love and respect we have for each other and our faith in God.

We love to spend time together as a family. We've made an annual tradition to vacation on the beach each year and have the most wonderful memories of playing in the ocean and the sand. Being outside and active is one of our favorite pastimes! Some of our family hobbies include hiking, camping, sledding, skating and bike riding - all things we eagerly await to share with another child!

Home - Surrounded by nature

We live in a cozy log cabin surrounded by acres of woods. Our neighborhood is situated on a quiet loop away from busy roads. It is a safe place to take walks and ride our bikes - both of which we do most every day.

We enjoy our home through each season. The spring brings fresh flowers while summer means listening to the frogs and watching the fireflies at night from the front porch. We love to watch the trees change color in the fall and spending winter evenings in front of the fire, roasting marshmallows.

One of my life's greatest blessings is having found such a wonderful wife. She is truly my best friend and my companion for life. I feel that through the years our love has grown and matured and as a result our marriage is a strong and stable relationship.

Sandy is such a hard worker. Besides her favorite job of being a stay-at-home mom, she somehow finds the time to support me by doing all of the paperwork for our small business. Sandy makes our house a home with warm touches in decorating and the aromas of home cooked meals every night (she's a great cook!). She enjoys life everyday and appreciates the simple things in life, like a good book, a quiet walk or having fun with friends!

Sandy is a compassionate person who enjoys doing things for others. It is this nurturing instinct that makes her a great mother. She loves being a stay-at-home mom with Sawyer and can't wait to share her love and attention with another child. These are just a few reasons why I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful wife.

Dave by Sandy

After knowing Dave only a short while, I knew that he was the one I wanted to spend my life with. Dave has been so kind, patient and loving during the ups and downs in life. He is a funny guy who loves to make people laugh. He is always finding the good in every situation and often reminds me to count my blessings. Dave puts his heart into running our small business. He makes sure that every customer is satisfied when they leave our shop. Whether at work or at home doing a project, he does everything the best that he can.

Dave enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. He likes to golf with his friends whenever the weather is nice. He also likes to ski, hike in the Adirondack Mountains, play ping-pong, have a relaxing picnic in the park or just spend time with our friends. Our nieces and nephews love it when he builds a huge sand castle with them at the beach every year.

Watching Dave and Sawyer together gives me great pride. Dave is a hands-on dad. He loves to be silly and make Sawyer laugh...they are often found doing puzzles, reading a book or just playing outside. My heart melts when I see Dave reading Sawyer his bed time story, or I hear them giggling during bath time. I love to hear Sawyer exclaim "Daddy's home, Daddy's home" everyday when Dave comes home from work. The giggles and love will only grow as we welcome your baby into our hearts and home. Im glad that I can say with all my heart that Dave is my best friend and a great Daddy to Sawyer.

In September 2007, our dream of becoming a family came true with the birth and adoption of our son Sawyer. We can still remember the first time we held him - it was truly love at first sight. Words just can't describe the amount of joy that Sawyer has brought into our hearts. We love the laughter and excitement that Sawyer has brought into our lives as well as the lives of our family and friends. He is a very happy and busy little boy. We love watching him grow and every stage of his life brings something new and exciting into our home. We thank God every day for the wonderful gift that a courageous woman gave to us. Alissa, Sawyer's birth mother, is truly an amazing person. We are glad that Alissa is a part of our lives and we enjoy seeing her at the FIA picnic every year.

Family & Friends

We both have large families that are eagerly waiting for our family to expand. Most of Sandy's family live in Michigan and we visit them several times a year. Most of Dave's family live only minutes away from our home and we often see each other for Sunday lunches and backyard barbecues. We join Dave's family for Thanksgiving every year and then spend Christmas in Michigan with Sandy's family. Sawyer loves to play with all of his cousins and can't wait to see them at holiday time. We are very thankful for all of our friends that have so lovingly embraced Sawyer into our family. We love to spend time with our friends who have built their families through adoption and we know our children will share a special bond forever.
