Who Are We?

Although this is just a snapshot of who we really are we hope that in the next few pages you will get a sense of our devotion to one another, our commitment to family, and to raising a child in a loving and secure home where we can nurture and encourage creativity, intelligence and individuality.

In The Begining...

We honeymooned in Italy and soon after our return bought our first home in Albany, New York.

About Our Family

We are all about family!

Reid has five brothers and sisters and 16 nieces and nephews to whom he is godfather more than once. Although Dina is an only child she is very close to her parents and cousins and, over the years, has grown very close to Reid's family as well. And how convenient that Dina's Mom and Reid's Mom have become best friends. They call each other sister because both of them feel the other is the sister they never had!

Most weekends we can be found engaged in some family gathering or celebration - baptisms, birthdays, confirmations, graduations, barbecues, apple picking, pumpkin carving contests, haunted hayrides, holiday gatherings and Easter Egg hunts! For us Family is truly a celebration in and of itself!

As much as we love our family gatherings we also enjoy our time together. We love going for long rides in the country, and brisk morning walks. We also enjoy boating, bicycling, as well as vacationing at our Lake House and Disney Time Share.

Who is Reid?

Reid is a businessman who travels internationally on a regular basis! As Business Director for the Americas for a company based in the Netherlands, on any given week he might be off to Spain, Brazil, Mexico or Holland! He enjoys jogging, skiing, snow boarding, golfing, cycling, hiking, and boating. Most people say he has a great sense of humor. His friends describe him as a loyal, devoted, and doting husband who is anxious to become a doting father. He has strong family values and most of his friends consider him to be gracious, generous, nurturing and sensitive. He can often be found puttering around the house or in the yard. He feels that being a good neighbor is important and he is always happy to lend a helping hand to a relative, friend, or neighbor. He has a strong sense of Community and Public service and has given many years to "Big Brothers", "Big Sisters", The Capital District Food Pantry, and he often runs races or participates in stair-climbs for Cystic Fibrosis, the American Lung Association, and other charities.

He is really looking forward to being a Dad. He will be the kind of Dad that will build his child a tree house or play house in the back yard. He will enjoy taking his son or daughter on camping trips, bicycling, skiing, and snowboarding. He will be a very "hands on" dad. He wants to help with diaper changes and feedings and get up in the middle of the night to comfort a sick or frightened child. He doesn't want to miss out on any of it! He plans to cut back on his travel schedule once he has a child and he also plans to take several weeks of Maternity leave when the baby first arrives. He wants to be there to see the world through his child's eyes and to keep his child safe. He believes that life experiences help to mold who we are and who we become. The selfless act of parenting is both an opportunity and a responsibility. He wants to encourage his child to reach out and touch the world. He wants to raise his child to develop into a confident, caring and giving individual.

Who is Dina?

Currently she works at SUNY Albany as an academic advisor, counseling students about courses, majors and careers. She also enjoys writing and has written many poems and short stories over the years. One day she hopes to try to have some of her work published. She also loves music and downloading music to her IPOD and making playlists. She is an animal lover and a strong believer of animal rights. She is very youthful and Reid would tell you that she has a lot of play in her. She loves to play computer games, and going to amusement parks and animal preserves. She is healthy and active and has a lot of energy. She enjoys boating and going for long walks. An only child, she is very close to her mom. Her mom and she spend a lot of time together (her mom is very excited to become a grandmother). She is very organized. She is a "planner" and always has her list of "things to do" close by. She loves to plan parties and social gatherings. It is easy to see how this will be helpful when she is a Mom as she will always have a list of activities for the family, rain or shine!

Her friends describe her as having a positive outlook, good listening skills, an analytic mind, and generous spirit. Like Reid, she also has a great sense of humor and the two of them spend a lot of time laughing together.

Although she has worked at SUNY Albany for a number of years, once she becomes a Mom she plans to be a 'stay-at home' mom. She is looking forward to enjoying her child. She believes parenting is a huge responsibility but that it should also be fun. She wants to create lasting memories with her child and she wants his or her memories of childhood to be happy ones. But she also believes that good parents should try to raise children who are independent and who have positive self-esteem so that one day they can become self-assured and successful citizens ready to make their own way in the world!

So this is our story so far...But our story is not complete

Yes, we are a work in progress and we hope the next step in our Journey will be to become two very devoted parents - parents who will try to raise our child to eventually become responsible and independent adults. But we can't move on to the next chapter in our story alone. We've included some pictures to help you put a face to "us" in the hopes that we become more real to you as you consider whether you would like to take this journey with us.
